Masquerade Chronicler Project

The Masquerade Chronicler Project is intended to serve as an ongoing, living Chronicle of the Camarilla’s Official Masquerade genre as well as provide a small preview of the next phase of the chronicle. National and Regional specifics are also welcome to be entered here.

A Global Chronicle

Act I

Act I of the Masquerade Chronicle will last almost one full year and will primarily consist of setting pieces and opportunities for character to become known, recognized, and familiar with the world-setting around them. Some fairly significant decisions will have to be made by all Sects as well as several prominent clans/factions.

Stage I – Setup

Theme: Establishment and Status Quo.

Long camera pants, high shots, lingering on the faces and situations of the main characters. The opening half hour of a movie is always about setting the tone and introducing you to the characters that you will be watching. Our chronicle is no different. Here we will be setting tone for NPC interaction in small ways.

This first stage will be light on meta-plot in order to give players a chance to find out who their characters are and flesh out play styles. Similarly local gsame will have the opportunity to establish their identity. There will be some small leads out there, but for the most part plot will be light.

Stage I will last 6 months.

Turning Point I – Opportunity

Theme: New Opportunities, Old Allies, and New Enemies

And with that, the doors of perceived opportunity are thrown wide. Archons, Cardinals, Lords, even Prisci all manner of tasty opportunities suddenly arise. The turning point is not a phase in itself, it just represents a change in the core story that initiates a change in the setting.

Ready the feeding frenzy.

Stage II – New Situation

Stage two will see a restructuring. Do the Assamite Schismatics join the Camarilla? Do the Gangrel return in the light of (REDACTED)? What of the Giovanni?

Things begin to change in ways the make Elders uneasy.

Stage two will last 6 months.

Turning Point II – Change of Plans

Turning Point 2 consists of expected opportunities changing suddenly or resulting in outcomes their pursuers did not expect. The first flood of “Lineage” orders comes, putting the 6th generation PC’s in direct opposition to each other.

Act II will last 16 months.
